Claire Louise is a vintage style singer from the North East - Yorkshire area. She sings at vintage themed events across the UK, specialising in 1920s themed Peaky Blinders or Gatsby style events, wartime 1940s weekends, or parties/afternoon teas singing a mix of well known jazz standards by the great composers of years gone by. Claire Louise can create the right atmosphere for your special event, whether it be vintage themed or just requiring a bit of jazz to go with some gin or some postmodern jukebox style modern pop with a vintage twist to get the party up and dancing.
A classically trained singer with a true passion for vintage style, Claire Louise is guaranteed to impress with her vocal talents and is equally at home providing the soundtrack to your sophisticated Gatsby era ball, as she is rallying an audience to join in with wartime singalong classics at a 1940's themed event.
As well as jazz and vintage style music, Claire Louise can perform a wide range of styles from classical/spiritual through to modern pop. Be it a solo a Capella performance in church, a pop, rock and soul 1960s-now set at a party backed with full band backing tracks, vocals with acoustic guitar or jazz duo/trio at a cocktail bar. Just ask about line-up options available when booking.
Claire Louise provides outstanding entertainment at a range of venues from five star hotels, jazz bars, village halls, gin festivals and everything in between. All event styles and sizes are welcomed, simply explain what era and genre(s) you would prefer and Claire Louise will fit her look and set list to suit you and your guests and do all she can to ensure you thoroughly enjoy her performance.
Public bookings in 2019 have included several Peaky Blinders and Gatsby themed events around the country singing 1920s reworkings of modern classics and tunes from the era, including the Peaky Blinders Amsterdam Cruise, a show for Peaky Events at The Golden Lion in Northallerton and shows for Georgie Muirhead Events at The Olde Bell.
Public 1940s performances in 2019 have included Padiham on Parade, The Met Lounge and Ballroom, Whitby and most recently the Christmas Wishes event for C.W.Sellors. There have been a lot of private events including a delightful corporate Peaky Blinders themed party at Arley Hall for Bespoke Construction and a Battle of Britain formal dinner at RAF Leeming.
Claire Louise has also enjoyed a residency at Albert's Eatery each Wednesday from July to November at the Wesley Hall in Whitby. This will recommence on Valentines Day 2020 but for 2019 there are some Christmas party dates booked in - enquire for bookings here.
Major events lined up for 2020 include VE Day celebrations in the Teesside area over the May bank holiday and a number of private Gatsby, Peaky Blinders and 1940s themed events. Claire Louise is also developing a 60s pop and soul show which will be ready to book in 2020, and a 60s-70s Motown to Disco show which is available for bookings from April onwards.
Mixed covers sets from 1960s to now are always available as part of any show/booking. As a vocal coach, Claire Louise's students keep her up to date with the latest hits, so even though her first love is vintage, all modern music gets a chance too!
Claire Louise loves to give back to the local community so care homes and community groups are offered a discounted rate, especially if they have to raise funds locally for their events.
